Our Beliefs

Individuals with intellectual disabilities have the right to participate fully and equally in social life, that include education, work, human and civil rights, independent living, control of their lives, sexual relations, family creation and childbearing.

MARGARITA supports with its services, its action and its discourse, those individual's right to self-determination.

The progress of individuals with intellectual disabilities in the last thirty years has been impressive. Their achievements are evident. We know, however, that their rights cannot be fulfilled, unless the social contexts are changed in depth, unless many social stereotypes are abolished.

We believe that individuals with intellectual disabilities have more potential than we think, so we point out that we need to trust them and believe in them even more.

We also believe that any action, work or measure that makes the lives of individuals with disabilities easier, it also makes life easier for all of us.
