Individuals with intellectual disabilities have the right to participate fully and equally in social life that includes education, work, human and civil rights, independent living, control over their lives, romantic relationships, family formation and procreation.

MARGARITA VTC supports with its actions and services, the individuals’ right to self-determination.

The achievements of individuals with intellectual disabilities in the last thirty years have been evident and impressive. But we know that their rights cannot be completed unless the social contexts are profoundly changed, unless many social stereotypes are abolished.

We believe that individuals with intellectual disabilities have more potential than they take credit for, therefore it is important to grant them more trust and support. We also believe that any action taken aiming at making their lives easier, has a positive impact on everyone’s life.
